Welcome to our neighborly microbrewery ‘de Coureur’ (the cyclist) in Kessel-Lo, near Leuven.

Brewer Bart and his spouse Ine decided to quit the corporate world and go for a hoppy job. Bart brews the beers he loves, hence a wide range of styles. The ‘Coureur’ beers  are energetic, exiting, courageous, unique and powerful, just like cyclists in the Tour of Flanders.

Bart has been a small brewer for years with Brewery NatteLore when he moved from Kessel-Lo (Leuven, Belgium) to Chicago (Illinois, USA) in 2014. In their first summer he fell with his race bike and broke his hip. The recovery time had 1 advantage; he discovered 200 craft breweries in Chicagoland. That resulted in an internship at GreenStar Brewery and a great and interesting relationship within the Chicago beer community. In the meantime Bart was executing his consultancy job. But in 2018 Bart and Ine moved back to Kessel-Lo and chose the Pursuit of Hoppiness. And whopla, in spring 2020 brewery ‘de Coureur’ opened her doors.

Brewer Bart loves to share his passion for beer. In the taproom everyone is welcome to enjoy a fresh, tasteful beer with a hoppy chat. Whether it’s one of the regular beers or a rotating drink, there will be a beer for everyone’s taste. (check the contact page for further info).

Each Saturday and Sunday at 12.15: ‘Meet the Brewer’
Have you always wondered how beer is brewed? Join us in our craftbrewery and taproom for a chat with Bart the brewer about beermaking and taste 4 of our craftbeers. Price tour & flight with 4 tasters of 10cl each = € 12 pp. Reservation is not required. Just show up!
(on 24&25/9 is the brewer on a beertrip, so no ‘Meet the Brewer’ that weekend but the taproom is open)

If you’d like a tour on another time, or in German, French or Spanish, just ask upon arrival and we will make it happen!

Life is Brewtiful!
